NBC cancels Megyn Kelly's morning show

Ms. Kelly and NBC News have been engaged in talks for her to exit the network after controversy erupted following a Tuesday edition of show where.

ET caught up with the Editor at Large of O, The Oprah Magazine at the publication's office in NY, on Friday, where she shared her thoughts on Megyn Kelly's recent controversial blackface comments that ultimately led to the cancelation of her show, Megyn Kelly Today.

"Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week", an NBC News spokeswoman said Thursday morning.

After "Megyn Kelly Today" aired a rerun on Thursday, rumors swirled that the host would be ousted from the network.

The announcement comes just days after she was criticized for comments she made on her show in which she questioned why dressing up in blackface for Halloween is inappropriate. "But you know, I feel now everybody is sort of piling on Megyn Kelly all at one time and I always think that's a very hard position to be in".

Fox News hasn't expressed any interest in taking Kelly back now that NBC is negotiating her exit.

Kelly had a long list of enemies, and many of them wasted no time to pile on after it was revealed that her show was canceled. "I learned that given the history of blackface being used in bad ways by racists in this country it is not okay for that to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise".

Kelly's time at NBC has been plagued by controversy and low ratings, as many industry insiders felt the former primetime cable news star was not a fit for morning television. "And that's what the big problem is".

This week, Kelly apologized and said she was sorry for her comments about blackface. Kelly burnt bridges at Fox after she publicly discussed sexual harassment she said she faced from the late Roger Ailes, the channel's co-founder. "Rather than creating a teaching moment for everyone, NBC chose to shame her", McManus said.

Megyn Kelly speaks onstage during Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit - Day 2 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, on October 13, 2015. "But the original sin was that Kelly was hired by NBC at all".

"There is no other way to put this, but I condemn those remarks", he said, according to The Daily Beast.

Time magazine, which honored "The Silence Breakers" as its Person of the Year, cited Kelly as the group's leader in the entertainment field. "And when we acknowledge that, then we can learn and grow from it".

Freeman held talks with NBC execs on Friday.
