Kim Kardashian forced to evacuate California home due to Woolsey Fire

As we reported, on Thursday night, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian were forced to evacuate their homes after huge fires erupted in the Calabasas and Hidden Hills area.

Taking to Instagram to post photos of the vivid flames spreading throughout Los Angeles, the reality TV mogul asked her followers to "pray for Calabasas". However, she learned upon landing that the flames were from the Woolsey Fire, not far from the compound she shares with husband Kanye West. She expressed gratitude to firefighters "putting their lives on the line for all of us" and sympathy for others affected by the fire.

She wrote on Instagram: "We love our community #malibu so devastating... taking us hours to evacuate".

The Los Angeles Fire Department issued a mandatory evacuation for many residents in the Los Angeles area as the fire continued to burn out of control late Thursday night.

"We lost our home, but we are all safe and that's the important thing", the director tweeted Friday. "I'll use #SoCalFiresJamesWoods People can exchange info using that hashtag on @Twitter searching for the missing or to announce they are safe".

Earlier in the day, another wildfire in Santa Rosa Valley called the Hill Fire shut down the 101 freeway and forced the evacuation of almost 1,200 homes.

At the time of this posting, the fire has not reached the Kardashian-West's main home but flames are on the property.

Wildfires continue to devastate California, and many people have taken to social media to update others on their whereabouts.

According to the city of Calabasas' Twitter, The Woosley Fire has "grown to over 2,000 acres with 0% containment".

Khloe, meanwhile, who'd only recently returned to California after an extended stay in Cleveland to be close to boyfriend Tristan Thompson, revealed she also evacuated with her new baby daughter, True.

Melissa Etheridge was also forced to evacuate, and tweeted that she was safe in Santa Monica.

Wilson tweeted, "My House has been evacuated due to nearby fires in Thousand Oaks". His so-called "Bleak House", which contains his collection of items too scary to be kept in the family home, was endangered. Cher tweeted that her friends' houses had been burned, adding that she could not "bear the thought of there being no Malibu".
