Samsung Galaxy J4 Core with 6-inch Display and Android Go Launched

This means that the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 will get updated to Google latest OS aka Android 9 Pie and also get all the features it comes packed with.

Coming to the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core, the smartphone sports a 6-inch HD+ TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 720X 1480 pixels. The device succeeds the Galaxy J2 Core launched back in August.

Similar to J2 Core, the J4 Core runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, and it is powered by a Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor.

The Galaxy J4 Core comes in three colors; Black, Gold, and Blue. The J4 Core is a part of Android Go programme which is optimised for low end devices.

Samsung has provided 16GB of onboard storage on the Galaxy J4 Core that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB).

The phone will also arrive with an ultrasonic, in-display fingerprint reader and the company's new One UI atop Android Pie, according to Blass. It is coupled with 1GB RAM.

Price and availability details of the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core are yet to be revealed, however. There is a 5MP front facing camera for snapping selfies.

The Galaxy J4 Core is listed already on Samsung's site along with technical specifications. The flagship Galaxy S series smartphone is said to be getting this update over Samsung Smart Switch and not via over-the-air (OTA) release. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, USB 2.0, and Global Positioning System. We expect the J4 Core to be priced similarly. The phone packs in a 3300mAh battery, which given the underpowered internals should ideally result in good battery life.
