Neymar and Mbappe injury blow for PSG

Ahead of its crunch UEFA Champions League tie against Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain is dealing with injury concerns over superstars, Neymar Jr, and Kylian Mbappe.

Both teams made wholesale substitutions in the second half and Cameroon backup goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa almost cost his team a second goal when he came off his line and left the net unguarded for Brazil's Gabriel Jesus, whose shot hit the post. The forward fell awkwardly on his right shoulder after a challenge by Uruguay goalkeeper Marin Campana.

Brazil forward Neymar had to be withdrawn after just eight minutes of his side's global friendly against Cameroon.

"He has a sore shoulder, he has fallen badly, he will have to see after with the medical staff".

After a treatment from Les Blues' physio, the decision was made for Mbappe to play no further part - plunging his participation in doubt for PSG's crucial Champions League clash with Liverpool at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday 28 November.

Neymar played down his injury, saying in an Instagram message that "it was nothing serious".

However, the Parisian were slightly relieved after Brazil's team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said he did not expect the PSG's talisman abductor muscle injury to keep him out for long. "(He) will need a little more time for a better evaluation, an image exam, but at first it is nothing important".

He said: "With Ney and Kylian, right now, the good thing is that it's not very, very serious".

The Brazilian star was taken off after just eight minutes and was replaced by Everton's Richarlison, who gave his team a 1-0 win with a header just before the halftime break.
