Lessons from win over Dwyane Wade and Miami Heat

LeBron James never seriously considered signing with the New York Knicks this past summer.

That seemed to be the general consensus after a video surfaced of the Los Angeles Lakers forward and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade meeting after Monday night's game.

Wade played what was likely his final game against James. Wade has said he will retire after this season. Monday's contest was the 31st between the two players, with James' Los Angeles Lakers hanging on to beat Wade's Miami Heat 108-105.

The game appropriately ended with James guarding Wade, who missed a hard 3-point attempt in the waning seconds.

The "King" had 28 points (on 10/19 shooting), nine rebounds and 12 assists, whereas Wade came off the bench and posted 15 points (6/19 shooting), 10 assists and five boards.

"Especially for the first seven years and then we got together". He could have just been reflecting on the fact that he subjected Wade to a massive media crush in his final game against LeBron, one only rivaled by what would exist in NY.

On the court, LeBron edged the final meeting against Wade as the Lakers won 108-105. "That's the only place we could end it at, man". Wade expects to spend more time in Los Angeles next year in retirement, and James has already invited him to work out together and to "help me out with the young guys" on the Lakers. I think I could hear his helicopter take off as the Staples Center sat, basically silent. So for me, there is no Miami Heat Basketball, without Wade. "This is the holy grail of competition, playing against the game's greatest player". "Us matched up for the final two possessions, him guarding me on one end, I'm guarding him on the other end". In their four-year stint, they made it to the NBA Finals four times, snagging two championships along the way. The Marquette alum has been one of the most sensational and dominant players since his arrival, attacking the rim with a mix of flair, ferocity and grace that the National Basketball Association may never see again.
