Arsenal limited to loan deals in January window, says Unai Emery

Unai Emery says Arsenal "cannot" sign players in the January transfer window.

"He is training well and he is OK", Emery said.

"We can not sign (players) permanently", he said.

"But I know the club is working for the possibility of players who can help us with this condition (on loan)".

Of the link to Banega, former Sevilla boss Emery added: "I know this player and he's a very good player".

"We can not sign permanently".

"Juventus looks the most likely destination for Aaron Ramsey when his contract runs out at the end of the season". The club is telling me each moment that different situations can happen for recruitment. "At the moment, we haven't had any news today about that".

"Only loan players", Emery said in his pre-match press conference before being asked about Denis Suarez, one of the players linked with a loan move to the Emirates.

"But the £100m spent to sign those players last season and hefty wages given to other star players has led to this situation".

"We pushed him and he was playing three matches during the week, but not ninety minutes each match". Every day he's here with us, he's working very well.

West Ham's build-up to the game has been overshadowed by Marko Arnautovic's revelation that he wants to leave the club.

There was better news for Emery ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to face London rivals West Ham. "His future I respect a lot because he has a very private decision but he is with us every day, and I repeat that I am very happy with him".

Defenders Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Konstantinos Mavropanos are all back in contention after struggling with injuries.
