He's on show in the next trailer: One of the game's new features will be the Custom Character Variation System, which NetherRealm promises will offer "nearly infinite" ways to customise their Kombatants.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest installment in the critically-acclaimed franchise, developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, and is scheduled for release beginning April 23, 2019 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®4 Pro computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch™ system and PC.

We saw a handful of characters during the event, but the most notable of the bunch is the brand-new one, Geras. For example, the regular Mortal Kombat 11 release has a price tag of US$59.99, but the Premium edition goes for US$99.99. "But with Mortal Kombat, I didn't have to make anyone up". Sonya Blade is being voiced by WWE star Ronda Rousey.

As we reported at the weekend, it's been reported that the current WWE Raw women's champion would be portraying long-serving MK character, Sonya Blade. What part they might play in Mortal Kombat 11, if at all, will be of interest to fans. Ed Boon shared a high-level overview of what it entails. Featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat's best-in-class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making. I'm not one to read into a winking emoticon typically, but it sure does seem suspicious in this case. "I'm expecting a V1 soon". We got a good idea of how grisly things will get, but we also got to see a solid look at some of the characters that will definitely be playable.

So it's always very hard to take what he's saying or teasing without a canyon-sized amount of salt.
