NBA All-Star: LeBron trades Westbrook to Team Giannis for Ben Simmons

James took Davis, Golden State's Klay Thompson, Portland's Damian Lillard, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook, San Antonio's LaMarcus Aldridge, Minnesota's Karl-Anthony Towns and Washington's Bradley Beal.

Given that James had the first pick of that round, it was a foregone conclusion that he would select Wade, his close friend and former championship-winning Miami teammate.

"Pop is going to tell me I can only play him two minutes", James said, likely only half-seriously.

With the NBA All-Star Game teams now selected via draft, fans of the league were interested to hear who would be taken where, so the league came through and made a decision to televise the event.

"So, the Golden State boys are off the board", James said.

If you're having a hard time following all the comings and goings surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks over the last 48 hours or so, I don't blame you.

What's more, LeBron seems to be using this All-Star game to "tamper" a bit more considering the players he chose for his squad are all eligible (excluding AD) for free agency at the end of the season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo thinks he might take Stephen Curry with his first pick in the NBA All-Star draft.

Antetokounmpo revealed he promised Milwaukee Bucks teammate Khris Middleton that he would be picked first amongst reserves.

To which Giannis laughed and asked if that was tampering. "I'm just kidding. I'm going with my buddy Dwyane Wade".

James managed to make a trade, convincing Antetokounmpo to swap Westbrook for Simmons - and give the Bucks' star the chance to have Westbrook and Embiid together, as he said he wanted.

James and Antetokounmpo taped their selections Thursday morning, and TNT aired their picks in the evening.

The last of the starters to get drafted was the Hornets' Kemba Walker, who will be playing in front of his home fans at Charlotte's Spectrum Center. James was the No. 1 overall selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 National Basketball Association draft and Miami took Wade with the No. 5 pick in the same draft.

As the pair laughed over James' conundrum of playing against his protégé, the spirit of the National Basketball Association trade deadline took over, with James proposing a trade to send Russell Westbrook to Team Giannis in exchange for Simmons.

"Kevin Durant", Antetokounmpo said.
