Xiaomi has finally announced their new flagship, the Mi9 after teasing the phone for quite a while. Xiaomi Mi 9 priceThere are two storage variants of the Xiao mi Mi 9. Plus, its highest variant features a massive RAM of 12GB.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition As mentioned in the opening paragraph, the regular Xiaomi Mi 9 is accompanied by a Transparent Edition. The Mi 9 SE will be a more affordable offering at 1999 CNY.

The Mi 9 also boasts an on-screen fingerprint reader, NFC compatibility and an infrared remote for TVs and air conditioning units. The latest lineup features three smartphones - Mi 9, Mi 9 Explorer Edition and Mi 9 SE. It is worth noting that this SoC by Qualcomm has been manufactured on the 7nm process and it is a 5G-ready chipset.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition is powered by octa-core processor and it comes with 12GB of RAM.

The Xiaomi phone features a rear-mounted triple camera setup with a combination of Sony IMX586 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support. Up front, the handset features a 20MP sensor that can also be used for face unlock in some regions.

The phone will come with a triple rear-camera set up, for starters, and its specs already show a lot of promise. It also seemed very impressed with the phone's ability to record 4K video by default and out of the box.

The Mi 9 comes with a 27W fast charger, which can fully charge the phone in little over an hour.

With a metal and glass chassis, the Mi 9 is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and runs Android 9.0 Pie based on the company's MIUI 10. Priced at CNY 3,999, it comes with Alita: Battle Angel branding. The phone packs 128GB of internal storage.

The Mi 9 SE is the most affordable among the three. The display has a waterdrop-style notch on the top and offers 600 nits of brightness. The in-display sensor is actually an upgraded scanner from Goodix, which should make for a faster and more reliable experience.

If you fancy buying the Mi 9, the basic 6GB version costs 2,999 yuan (converting to $446 or £342), while the 8GB version is 3,299 ($491, £376) yuan and the Explorer 3,999 yuan ($595, £457).

When you flip the phone around, you'll find a 20-megapixel selfie camera and a 6.39-inch AMOLED display - the device apparently has a 90.7 percent screen-to-body ratio - with FHD+ resolution. The new Mi 9 SE model could be priced between CNY 1999 to CNY 2999. But it isn't just the standard slow boat wire-free trickle charge that many phones have, as Xiaomi invested a little extra effort to create a special charging pad capable of sending 20-watts of juice to the Mi 9 wirelessly.
