Kathleen Kennedy Says She's Planning 10 Years of Star Wars Movies

"The saga comes to an end".

Returning cast members for Episode IX include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo and Billie Lourd.

The film will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Michelle Rejwan, and executive produced by Callum Greene and Jason McGatlin.

Director J.J. Abrams, speaking alongside numerous film's stars, said the movie takes place some time after the events of 2017 film "The Last Jedi". "We'll always be with you".

Luke also tells Rey that "we have passed on all the knowledge" and that the fight against evil is now hers.

Director J.J. Abrams, unsurprisingly, isn't revealing anything that might risk "breaching the agreement that we have to preserve the fun for fans", he says. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is designed with gameplay as a top priority in order to deliver the kind of intense Star Wars lightsaber battles that are seen in the films. As Luke Skywalker said, "No one's really gone".

To tie in with the big reveal that Emperor Palpatine is returning to the saga, a deluxe Black Series Emperor with chair will be an Amazon exclusive.

Naomi Ackie, who joined as a new character named Jannah, said she could not confirm or deny speculation that Jannah was Calrissian's daughter. "This is an adventure that the group goes on together", he is quoted in The Hollywood Reporter as saying.

Following Battlefront and its lukewarm reception, that description alone - story-driven Star Wars experience set in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away - is enough to leave fans rooted to the edge of their seat and giddy with anticipation.

Star Wars Episode IX finally has a title: The Rise of Skywalker.

We also catch a glimpse of BB-8 in the clip, who seems to have developed a new friendship with the droid D-o.

We get a peek at a couple additional characters, including a former Jedi Knight played by Debra Wilson, who you may recognize from her appearances in Far Cry: New Dawn and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Bearing in mind that I'm a part of it, but there were certain changes to the script while we're filming and I'm not in a lot of the scenes that Rey has with Kylo Ren.
