FnB was named "best new restaurant" by several local outlets in 2010.

"For those of you who don't know what the Oscars are, they're the James Beard Awards for films", Tyler Ferguson quipped during his opening monologue.

Okan Yazici of Philadelphia's Zahav, which won the Outstanding Restaurant award, spoke of finding a home and a family at the restaurant after immigrating from Turkey; he began as a busboy at Zahav and worked his way up to general manager. But it's not the annual Met Ball in NY.

It was the fifth year in a row that the awards ceremony took place at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

It's a star-studded event hosted by sparkling celebrities. He wasted no time taking shots at some of the food world's biggest personalities.

The ceremony in Chicago bestowed awards to members of the food industry in categories including best restaurant design, best new restaurant, outstanding bar program and outstanding pastry chef.

- Outstanding restaurateur honors went to Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz of the Boka Restaurant Group (Boka, Girl & the Goat, Momotaro, and others.) Pointing to his longtime business partner and close friend, Katz said of Boehm: "This hair has opened so many doors for us!"
