Sylvester Stallone's John Rambo Returns In First 'Last Blood' Trailer

Sylvester Stallone is surrounded by his enemies and held at gunpoint in the first teaser trailer for Rambo: Last Blood.

"All these years I've kept my secrets", says Rambo before sharpening the blade, "but the time has come to face my past". But we're not cynical this newest/likely final Rambo will end his story on a sour note, because the first trailer for the film looks fantastic.

"I want revenge", he adds, "and I want them to know that death is coming... and there's nothing they can do to stop it".

Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Yvette Monreal co-star in the film directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay by Stallone and Matthew Cirulnick. After doing the seemingly impossible and reinvigorating the Rocky series with two successful Creed films, he's back with another one of his classic characters, in what appears to be his swan song s the iconic Vietnam veteran who can't escape his deadly past. And if you watch the trailer, unveiled today, you might hear something familiar. The movie would spawn one of the greatest action franchises ever with Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, and Rambo.

"Rambo: Last Blood" will hit theaters on September 20 - 37 years after the series launched with "First Blood". The most recent installment, Rambo, which was released in 2008 brought in only $113 million at the global box office.

In April 2017 Nu Image/Millennium chief Lerner hinted Stallone had quit the franchise due to creative "disagreements" with him, but admitted there was still a chance he could be involved in the fourth film.
