NWS: Holiday forecast includes chance for storms, heat indices over 100

Highs on Tuesday will be about 90 degrees.

Thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon and evening across Beaufort County and most of southeast SC, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston. Highs will reach the upper 80s to low 90s.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms diminish this evening so most fireworks displays should go on! No severe weather is in the forecast for now, and the main threats of any storms we might see are gusty winds and small hail. Cloud cover will continue to increase throughout the day on Friday with the heat index in the triple digits. While there is a chance of storms late tonight with some models, most models keep us dry so will keep the rain chance out for now.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move south into Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas this evening. Wind W/SE 5-10 miles per hour.

Any lingering rain showers will fizzle out as the evening progresses, so numerous firework displays will go on without an issue.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy; a few storms north of Wichita. South wind 3 to 8 miles per hour. South wind 7 to 10 miles per hour.

We'll have a chance for scattered t-storms Sunday. Low: 75. High: 95. All dry this morning with mostly sunny skies. South wind 9 to 13 miles per hour.
